white house's self- imposed deadline has passed for the healthcare website to start working. reporter susan mcginnis has a check-up on the site that's become a political sore spot for the obama administration. >> reporter: the white house says 50,000 people can now log on to healthcare.gov all at the same time. >> we have a much more stable system that's reliably open for business. >> reporter: jeffrey, who leads the president's website repair team, said in a conference call this weekend that after more than 400 bump fixes and software -- bug fixes and software upgrades, the obama administration met its goal a working site for the vast majority of users. >> the site is stable and operating at intended capacity with greatly improved performance. >> reporter: response times have improved from 8 seconds in late october to less than 1 second. error rates have gone from 6% to less than 1%. democrats applaud the progress. >> hopefully we are going to have americans get access to the healthcare they need. >> reporter: republicans argue once consumers get in, they won't like what they see. >>
